The legacies of queerness and horror films remain insatiably intertwined. This newly commissioned performance for Art Central 2025 draws inspiration from the campy formalism of B-movies—particularly horror comedy—to explore their grotesquerie while reflecting on the figures of the vampire and motherhood in the Chinese cinematic landscape
The performance consists of 4 scenes (15mins):
1/ The Birth (Asexual reproduction), 2/ Lab Time (Rite of Passage),
3/ What a Mess (Poop and Milk), 4/ HBD (Gift of Eternal Love).
Sound material is extracted and remixed from two Hong Kong Movies :
Mr. Vampire (1985) and Motherly Love (1961)
